On February 21, 2003, the Clark County Fire Department was recognized for excellence by being accredited by the Washington, DC-based Commission on Fire Accreditation International. CCFD is one of 18,000 professional fire departments in the US and one of only 69 fire departments throughout the world to have achieved Accredited Agency status.
While no one can tell for sure what tomorrow will bring, Chief Greene and his staff have no intention of resting on their laurels. Today the department sports a compliment of 650 employees. The department faces many challenges never seen by others due to the unique nature of our community. The men and women of the department deal with everything thrown their way with skill and professional attitudes. These are the people who make the Clark County Fire Department what it is today, and what it will be for many years to come ... second to none.
